Waŋganymi waluyu, waŋgany ḏirramu ŋarruŋan bala gukuḻi.
One day a man went looking for honey.
Ŋarruŋan nhan yakan, yana ḻinygu, djuḏupnha gulŋiyan wurrthal'ḻin.
Bala nhan ŋarruŋan gukuwun nhäŋa'- nhaŋal.
Going along, he entered the forest. Then he looked for sugar bag.
Yana ḻinygu, baku-bakuruwan nhan ŋarruŋan ḻiw'yuman, ga dhäwul yana nhan maḻŋ'thuman.
Next he went around looking for honey but he couldn't find it.
Bala nhan ŋarruŋanan bala nhan nyinanan, ŋoynha ŋir'yunmin bakurunharan ḻiw'yumandan.
Then he sat down for a rest.
Ga bayiwaḻiyam dhurrwaraŋuru nhan biyapul gukuwu rangan, bala nhan nhäŋal gukun ḏawurrnha yarrpanynha, nhan ŋarruŋan gulŋiyan, ŋarru dharpawuyma gaḏaykawuy.
After that, he went looking for honey, then he saw the bees going into the tree.
Ḻinygun bala nhan guṯthuwanan, guṯthuwanan yana ḻinygu ga gälkin, nhan banhaya dhulmu gukumi dharpa munatha'ḻin.
So he chopped at the tree, it fell to the ground.
Ga biyapul nhan guṯthuwan mamuḏakthuwan, dharrnha nhäŋal nhan rumbalma gukuny nhan yakan ŋoyan. Bala nhan wapthumanan banikin'ḻin, wapthumanan ŋarruŋan dhaŋaŋ.
Again he chopped across the tree, he saw the sugar bag there. Then he got it, put it into a billy, he got a lot.
Ḻinygun, bala nhan ḏitjuwanan ŋayiḻi'n.
Then he set off, and went home.
